Dhoraji Youth Services Foundation (DYSF) is a non-political and not-for- profit organization registered under the Societies Registration Act 1860. DYSF aims and objectives are to foster, promote and encourage education, health, placement of unemployed and observations of cultural norms of the Dhoraji community in particular and the community at large in general. DYSF runs education scholarship program, organizes seminars, shaheen’s (volunteer) skills development program, sports activities and annual academic excellence awards to achieve its goals. DYSF also has a medical assistance program, economic uplift program and conduct various other activities in line with its aims and objectives. The management of DYSF is vested in the Board of Governors.
Empowerment through Education:
Dhoraji Youth Services Foundation’s core focus is on education. Education makes a person not only knowledgeable, civilized but prepares him/her for self-reliance whether it is community, societal or nation development. Education plays the vital role as does the for the body.
We at DYSF initiated the education program through awareness, counselling and academic excellence award ceremonies. In 2004, we started the scholarship program on the criteria of merit-cum-need basis. The program started with less than 10 students. Today there are about 1300 recipients. Another 335 students have completed their studies and pursuing their careers in local and multinational companies. Some of DYSF scholars are placed abroad. The 335 success stories are the manifestation and validation of the successful outcomes of the program. Those who have completed their studies are today supporting themselves, families and other students because education have made them self-reliant. They have become the realization of our vision that “ The recipient of today should become the donor of tomorrow”.
Such a huge scholarship program cannot be run and sustained without the blessings of Allah, consistent support of the donors through their generous financial contribution and moral backing.
We hope that with the culture of quality education already matured in the community, we shall In Shaa Allah be the community of choice as far as the education is concerned.
